California Leads Nation In Pushing Back Against Trump Administration Health Policies

Amidst a concerted effort by the Trump administration to weaken the Affordability Care Act (ACA), California is pushing back seeking to build on the law’s achievements in the state.

In response [to federal actions], California lawmakers are debating bills that would prohibit work requirements in Medi-Cal, the state’s version of Medicaid; ban the sale of short-term plans in the state; and increase the percentage of insurance premiums that must go toward consumers’ care.
