It is with sadness, that we share the passing of Larry Lavin, former director of the National Health Law Program (NHeLP). Larry was a dedicated advocate for low-income communities and led NHeLP through challenging times, ensuring its growth and survival. Larry was instrumental in organizing the Health Consumer Alliance, pioneering digital innovations in legal services, and establishing remote legal backup centers. His legacy includes partnerships with the National Disability Rights Network and unparalleled contributions to ensuring access to public benefits and Medicaid’s response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. The Health Consumer Alliance and our partners statewide praise his integrity and commitment to justice. We will remain steadfastly committed to his mission of protecting and seeking justice for the most vulnerable in our society.
