released by the journal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthaffairs.org\/doi\/full\/10.1377\/hlthaff.2018.0309\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health Affairs<\/a>, found that immigrants covered by private health insurance and their employers contributed nearly $25 billion more in premiums in 2014 than was spent on their care. In contrast, U.S.-born enrollees spent nearly $25 billion more than they paid for in premiums. According to the researchers, this reflects and young and healthy immigrant pool and reluctance to seek care.
